eibach pro vs sportline

  Clio 182 arctic
is there much difference between the two. all i can see is that the sportlines drops the car 30mm whereas the pro lowers the car 20mm and 15mm. the pro are a tad more expensive but not much. do fitting just springs make the handling noticeably different.
im planning on refreshing the front shocks anyway sometime soon at northwest performance, but they just dont know it yet ;)

Iv had both, for me..

Sportlines (i had on 172) - lowerd about 20mm and felt crashy but reduced body roll.

Prolines (currently got on cup182) - lowered about 10mm better ride, and slightly less body roll to sportlines.

Don't buy new, buy used (good nik ones) not worth £140.. U can buy either used for around £80, I did.

I've got Sportlines but I've also driven a 182 with Prolines fitted.
In short, Prolines seem a little stiffer and you get a bit less body roll, and Sportlines lower the car more but seem a little bit softer.
Both are a massive improvement over standard springs though.

Oh and if you can wait a few weeks my Sportlines should be up for sale ;)

well im just lookin around atm. im deffo replacing the shocks neway so while there off i may invest in some springs. i like the OE ride quality but a little better in the handling department wouldnt go amiss and i dont realy want the look of the car to change much. cheers guys. so you deffo dont think there worth £150.

should of been quicker dude ive just sold a set of prolines for 60 notes and they have only done 7k. never mind. but they really are worth getting just uprate your dampers at the same time. my standard units took a right smashing.

Prolines for u then mate. Not worth it when u can get them for £80 and they ride like new anyway..

prolines it is then, i will keep my eyes out in the for sale section. its gna be a month or 2 yet neway before i buy anything, so all the suspension will be refreshed along with a set of new mounts/ bushes. should ride like new. (hopefully).

had my prolines on a while. theyre a fair bit stiffer than standard but not actually driven the car in anger yet so cant really give any feedback. car definitely feels a lot more solid tho

I had a set of Eibach pro's fitted to standard dampers a few months back, they subtley lower the car, however the ride is quite crashy, noticeably more than normal. Handling wise, it's hard to say, the car feels like it rolls slightly less. On the whole I'd get some coilovers.

Had both. Handling wise there's very little in it. The pros barely alter the ride from standard.

i have had both too like warren. not a lot of difference in handling/ride between the two to be honest. i like the sportlines better due to the ride height. great all round spring. prolines did not lower the car at all and felt very simelar to the sortlines.

I think they (pro) tighten it up nicely?
Handling wise, yes. But the ride quality is barely affected (a good thing).

Tbh, for people that aren't venturing on track, a set of eibachs and a whiteline arb would be a better bet than most coilovers.

Well spoken!

The prolines are a very nice upgrade from standard.. firms the car up nicely, but no crashy like most "lower'ing springs"

and the rear ARB makes the car alot more precise when entering corners, well thats certainly what I felt after fitting my ARB :)

sorry to hijack the thread, but do the whiteline arb's make a big difference. i have had a bit of a read up of them and found a few threads. sounds like they can make the car tail happy tho? is that right?

I had a play with mine today, put it on the middle of the 3 settings. 10mins, a clear noticeable difference. If more people had experience of these, I think they would be the most popular handling mod on here.

No, more precise. The effect is actually quite tricky to explain, best to try and get a shot in a car with one. You can disconnect it in 2 mins, so it's quite easy to do a back to back test.

I am sure mine only has 2 points of adjustment :S

2 holes each side. You can have them both in the same hole ( the rear holes are the soft setting). If you then move 1 bolt forward that the middle setting, or you can move them both forwards for hard. I've been told that full hard is pretty extreme, one to try on track IMO.

so if i got some prolines on my 182 fitted would it ruin my dampers? or anything else for that matter?
