Electric proplem with 172

When my car goes near 6,500 rpm the engine seems to cut out?

I light comes on and you can't rev the engine?

But if you turn the engine off and on again all is fine again?

The light that comes on is the eletric fault light in the middle (looks like a square with a zig zag line going through it).

Anyone had this fault of know of what it could be?

get the dignostics done on it. if you find out what the problem is you will have to have the fault code wiped any way
