Electric window - help!

My passenger electic window will always go down, but will only come up about one time in 50! Pretty annoying as you can imagine!

Its not the switches as both work/dont work at the same time. Ive taken the door card off and had a gander at the motor and regulator (which seem to be one inseparable unit) and checked all the connections/fuses. But it still does it!

A motor/regulator is over £100, so I want to make sure the problem is with the motor before I have to shell out! Would the motor be buggered if it only worked in one direction intermitently??

Im not much help in fixing your motor - when mine broke it didnt work full stop. But - I just got another regulator and motor (yep its all one part) from a french car breakers for £30. Its been fine ever since

mines goes down on the passenger switch but wont come up at all and when i put it up via the drivers side switch its pretty slow.

I would say the motor is buggered yes. I reckon its easier for the motor to wind the window down than it is to wind it up, so yea yours as well as mine is on its way out!

I woudl check the wiring first.

Doe sit have a pattern like when you open the door it works ok etc?

Have a look at all the connections and do a continuity check.

I got a window motor from a passenger door if you need one mate.

Mine will go down with the drivers side button but not up - it will however go up with the passengers side button everytime!

im sure ive seen a few prveious threads about this. I just dont put the passenger one down (unless im in the passenger seat).

well if anyone wants a full passenger door for £35 let me know. need the space, its got the glass in it and the electrics. motors too.

My lucky day! my passenger window has got the same problem! it was always a bit slow coming up but now it wont go up or down and its stuck bout 2 inches open! doh! good thing gota good alarm onit. I noticed that theres a catch on the window that has broken and was causing the window to slide outa its run. Maybe thats the same prob as youve got BenH????????

the catches that the window fits into on the runner gets brittle with age. mine broke when i took the windows out to tint them.
