Electric Window problem!

Hi,

The drivers side window on my Clio S 1.4 (2000 reg) stopped working yesterday, it was working ok then opened the window fully, the glass seemed to drop down and the window wouldn't come up again. You could hear the motor going and it was moving a bit, trying to come back up I think, but it wouldn't budge. Managed to pull it all the way up (with some helpful passers by!) and its now shut, is this a easy job to correct?

Have got a Haynes manual and am going to have a go at opening the panel and see if its just dropped off or what...if not then will try the garage. Any helpful suggestions?

Sounds like its come off the guide rail to me.

take door card off check its not come of the guid rails, check no wires are obstructing the movement of the glass to, happened on an audi the other day

turns out it was the little plastic bit that attaches to the glass, had snapped off. Managed to get the window back on and working again but will need a replacement fixing as its not very stable, will have a look on the net, any suggestions where I can get one? Thanks!

I have just had the same problem. I have stripped the door card off and the white plastic part that attached to the glass is still there but it looks like the cable has come adrift. The white plastic part that then attached has come off. How did you get everything attached gain or are you waiting to order the part of ebay. Some of the parts available look different ?

as regards to the white clip mate, go to a garage or something and have them order it off renault or like an auto spares place thats local. prob be about £3, or if you can find the right one online but might be abit of pain in the ass looking at little pictures

Just had the same problem and now put back togethor again. I need the part which you can get off ebay , saying that there looks like there are 2 types, mine is the white one. I have tied mine with thin wire to the plastic nipple on the part that goes through the glass and then returned to the front part of the plastic part to secure it short term. Everything moves ok. After I put everything back I realised I could have used a small plastic tie !!! Anyway I am just glad its working again. If anyone needs pictures of the door inside I have taken some for reference.

my friend managed to get the clip to attach to it fairly easily, looks like only half of it was broken off (the white base bit not the Y shaped clip)....have managed to get one on Ebay, it arrived today and is exactly the same as the one that broke off, here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CLIO-II-WINDO...arts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item33615b1cb4 so will fit it over the weekend.

(by the way in that picture the larger white part is actually turned around so you can't see the nipple bit, but it is there and exactly the same as the one on my clio)
