Electrical faults & autolights issue

  RS clio 172
Hi all :)

two-three issues...

Climate control display:
this one has been happening over the last month. The climate control display has been going a little funny, the last bar that finishes the number 8 has stopped working then the week after the first two little fan icons for speed 1-3 have stopped working. the thing that's unusual is that when you put the heat any higher than min, for example 16+ the fan number 1 will light up (aslong as its on 1 or above) also if the setting is up to fan speed 3 or more then 1 and 3 will work when a degrees is chosen but if its on min then nothing below fan speed 4 will show :S

is this just a faulty display die'ing over time now or is this a fault somewhere else?

Auto-lights not working:

Yesterday I noticed a side light out when driving so ordered some ice white sidelight bulbs to go with the 172 xenon colour, popped them in before and noticed when i start the car (at night) the auto lights are now not auto swithing everything on.. was working perfectly before changing the bulbs. I bought these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/390481087645?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

Power draining:

When i start my car its a 50/50 chance that my trip will reset and my clocks will die for a split second when turning the ignition on, sometimes it can go a day or a week without it happening or sometimes it can do it every time I start in a day. its never not started it always starts fine but what will happen is youll turn the key so the radio and fans come on and all the dials (fule etc) move to where they should and when you turn the key to ignition you'll see the dials drop instantly as if they've lost all power but only for that initial split second..

I have an amp wired with 2 rear parcel speakers, would it be anything to do with them or could this be something anyone else knows? (The battery has an indicator to say its fine (green/clear/red etc) its on green so says thats fine too)

Thanks for reading and thanks in advance for any help!

For the auto lights were you playing with them when putting the new ones in? Like turning them off and on.

You've probably just turned the auto lights off, key out of ignition flick the lights fully on and off twice and it should beep to say it's been activated.

I did mess about with the switch saying that, feel pretty stupid if I've turned it off :p I'll try it out shortly :) Thanks Adam.

Try disconnecting the amp and see if you still get problems with the clocks resetting, easiest way imo! Sounds to me like the amp + starter motor are pulling all the power from the battery on startup

Sorted the autolights now, thanks adam :)

Sburrel - Fair point, I'll give this a go tomorrow and unplug the amp from the battery.
