Electrical Issue

  Hondata'd EP3 Type R
Having server problems with my 04 1.2 Dynamique! Was driving along about a month ago at around 40mph when I saw the most gigantic pot hole ever, I couldn't swerve round it as There was a car coming the other way So I had to brake but did end up going down it. All the lights came on on the Dashboard, And the head unit went off.

Ever since then, I've had some alternator whine through my speakers, And every now and then, Warning lights come on on the dash board, The head unit goes off and the car goes into a sort of limp mode, Imagine there is some kind of resisitance like I am now been held back by an elastic band. This has effect for about 10 seconds, But it also makes my steering very heavy which isnt good if your driving along the motorway!

I need to get it sorted, So I've got a few days off work So i have decided to try and sort it out.

Any ideas what it could be, Its obviously something lose some where?

thanks

Start at the obvious mate....

All your symptoms are indicative of low voltage, bought on by a sharp shock through your car....

1, Battery clamps, (Loose, damaged battery posts)
2, Battery earth point, (Loose, broken)
3, Engine/Gearbox earth, (as above)
4, Alternator mounting bolts, (as above)
5, Alternator mounting brackets, (as above)
6, Main fuse box, (check all fuses are fully home), replace main fuse....
