Emissions light on?

  clio 182FF
My emissions light just came on today as i was driving home. Until two days ago the manifold to cat join was blowing so i got the kit for it and fixed it so that it is all fine. I used the search function but i wasnt sure if it relates to my exact case as i just think maybe the fact that my exhaust was previously blowing may give a reason for this to happen?

The car still is running perfectly, revs fine, pulls fine etc. There is no Decat just a janspeed cat back exhaust system and finally i had to put some 95ron fuel in it the other day as i was running low out on a trip and the garage i stopped at didnt have any premium, i had just refuelled it this morning again with Bp ultimate 97. Not sure if this is relevant but possibly could cause changes?

Any one have any ideas or know anything?

Thanks

i thought about either buying a reader or taking it somewhere but was hesitant to bother if it was likely to be something that may go if it was just due to possibly a fixed blowing exhaust/ high ron to low ron then back to high ron fuel. As i said i have no idea if either cause it but just thought it was slightly coincidental and would hate to get it all checked out etc and find the light would have turned itslef out or only came on for a simple reason.

If you think its likely more serious then i think i will get one of those fault code readers off ebay, im guessing a fault code list exists on this website? or do the devices also tell you the problem as well as the code?

Personally I would get the fault codes read, then if it is to do with low Ron fuel it will go out and stay out, if it doesn't or it comes back you have a problem, search the fault code on here and I'm 99.9% you will find info on here.

Ok, im looking at this, from reading another thread i think someone recommended it, can you confirm or not if this is going to work on a 54plate 182?

Well my scanner is over £2000 pounds and it works, I'm not going to guarantee that for £20 it's going to work.

wow! Well luckily my light just turned itself when i started it up this afternoon :) So im guessing it was one of the 2 things i thought may have influenced it. Im going to try my best to stick to permium unleaded and hope it doesnt come back on. If it does then may take it down to a garage for a quick check but im guessing right now the lambda sensor etc must be ok else im sure it wouldnt just turn back off.

Thanks for your help
