Just need a few tricks to get my car through its mot. It failed on emmisions miserably:

Fast Idle:
CO 4.84%
HC 232ppm
Lambda 0.86

Idle:
CO 8.24

Ive managed to get it down on idle to 1.5% CO after cleaning the lambda, so any tricks to lower it that little bit more for the MOT..

Dan you tried the fuel treatment you can pick up from Halfrauds and stuff like that, bit of a cheapskate option though.

Or book it in first thing and nail it round for half an hour before

Friend of mine used to have a golf gti with a decat on, he didnt have the original cat to swap for the MOT so he used some stuff from halfords and then before he dropped it off he drove it like he stole it for an hour. Result was he passed but only just.

I wouldnt recommend (sp) that method as its an easy way to spank £30 when that £30 could go towards buying a new cat or whatever it is you need to pass the MOT

You will need to go a nice run to get the cat cleaned out as it will be saturated, this new gaff yer working in, has it a got a fueler? If so wire it up and it lean to clean the cat.

well think about my car then the dvla office kept telling me the mmisions are the same as the 1.2 to the 2.0 when i've changed it over the factory details are the same?
i told them how can a 2.0 produce the same emmisions as a 1.2 if the tax is higher? they told me that the details were the same changed all the other details over so i'm gonna be screwed at mot time me thinks

pm bruin for some forte gas treatment (industry stuff) then tank it with optimax run it hard and should pass.. mine did

Mine misrably failed its emissions today on the mot so gonna put the cat back on to hopefully get it through. One problem is I have thrown out my original manifold so if it still fails on it im kind of screwed :/
