EML come on

Hi, the engine management light came on yesterday after startup so I took it to kwik fit (the only ones open on a Sunday) to get it checked. After what seemed like ages the guy came back to me and said it is the O2 Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 1 and the Throttle Valve Control that will need replacing...

Surely I would notice a drop in performance with the above items if they were faulty? Performance is normal? confused.com

So far the EML has not come on (yet to try again this morning) again since visiting the garage.... could it be a faulty reading - or is there any other reason for the light to come on?

The car does need a service, plugs etc - could this effect the EML?

Any help appreciated - I just dont want to spend money on parts I may not need

Ignore the throttle message he got back, does the car still drive ok? Its probably the post cat lambda rather than the pre-cat one as you'd know if the pre-cat one had gone. Where abouts are you? I can stick it on clip for you get a proper diag if you wanted.

Im in doncaster however i will be in Coventry on the 14th if you could check it then?

I haven't noticed any difference in the performance or running of the car...... why ignore the throttle message??

should i expect the light to come back on as with previous cars it has come back on imediately.
