Engine bay thoughts

Hi on my cup I have fitted a carbon fibre engine cover, battery cover, fuse box cover and also have a Maxogen induction kit. I was just wondering what to do with the inlet plenum and fuel rail protector? I was thinking of spraying them blue as my car is blue, but was also thinking of polishing them up to match my awaited bailey header tank and k tec stainless steel strut barce. Any other opinions would be listened to, and sorry dont have any pics on pc only on phone.

Thanks

mark

hiya mate

Ive done pretty much what your asking about - painting is definately far easier and cheaper but in my opinion polished looks far better. Its a bit of a mare to do but worth it in the end

heres one of mine - done pretty much all I am going to do now - gotta start saving for an R32

that looks good chris - your hill power filter looks sparkling compared to mine but mines over 3 years old now!

the polishing job looks good - what polishers did that for you - Im trying to find someone to do between the letters too. I did it on the one pictured with a dremel but have a new one arriving on monday from ben at angelworks which has been partially polished but needs finishing - should give me some more power now its had the angelworks mod done as well hopefully.

Would you be interested in a pair of samco water pipes for that chris - can get them in red for you if you want them

Yeah my Hill Power has only just been fitted a couple of weeks ago. Had my Plenum polished by 'Impact Metal Finishers' of Colwick, Notts. Picked up my Angleworks inlets and took to the polishers the next day along with the fuel rail cover. Between the letters I think is a tricky bit as the polishers use fairly big machines that aren't suited. Probably need to find a specialist for that sort of detail work. I did have a go with a dremmel type tool with a small wire disc on the throttle body. Gave it a shine after polishing with autosol.
My wife loves the car scene so is very happy for me to spend time on it while she slaves in the house....saying that, she actually cleaned the engine bay and fitted the wire covering and polished the air-con pipes.
In the near future I plan a trip up to Leeds to get a re-map at RS Tuning.

How much for a Red Half set?

yeah they are doing my plenham for me I think - the bloke is really helpful - did I refer you to him by any chance?

my wife aint as bad as I make out - but the likelyhood of her cleaning mine is nil!

The bloke in impact told me he knows a guy that will go between the letters but charges a fortune so I gess Ill see how it goes

PM'd you about the pipes mate

I did ask someone a while ago about polishers around Notts area. I found a couple on Yell.com and plumped for Impact as I pass by with work quite often and its only 20 odd miles from home.

It sounds great, really deep and basey, the sound is very pleasing not harsh and compliments my other mods i.e magnex system, sports cat, 182 manifold, and matched inlets. Got 2 cold air feeds to it, one going to the front lower grill and one going down into the wheel arch. The filter is foam protected with a heat shield.:)
