Engine change how hard

hi, how easy is it to change a 1.9 d enigne on a 96-97 clio

as my bros preg facelift clio engine blew so weve got a mreg 1.9 d clio as a doner old shape, the engines look the same but is there any difference between them?

also can you take it fromthe top with the gearbox still attached to the engine or seperate before?

Or what ways easyest??

if you can drop the subframe with all attached... is easier to get to everything....

remove:

suspension strusts from top.
exhaust downpipe, not manifold
electrics from bay connections in relay/fuse box
heater matrix pipes
throttle cables etc.

cant think of the rest...

subframe only held on with 4 bolts.....

take time over it...

Only thing with that is im changing the engine out side my garage so can get the car higher than 1 foot in the air!

Anyway il have a look sunday i dont think its that hard to do.......
