Engine completly shagged

right well as the title goes my engine is completly shagged due to cambelt snapping among everything else blowing up lol....
anyways i dont no what to do i cant for obvious reason sell the car for much and ive just lowered it and all that.... so i need a new engine first question
1) how do I find a used one and im thinking of the 1.6 16v engine.....
2)how hard a job is this to replace im doing it with my old man who used to be a mechanic quite a while ago he is confident he can do it .
3) what sort of price am i looking at for a new engine?
and
4)can someone sort of tell me everything i need to change the engines component wise i mean cheers for the help guys sorry loads of questions.

Get your old man to just slam a set of valves in your car replace the gasket and all that, sell it and just upgrade, buy a 1.6, so so so much easier in the long run.

yeah but like i said previously i just finished getting all the springs on alloys dvd + tv's ps2....... my sound install finally done with all sound deadining and all that i aint getting rid of it so im simply changing the engines round...just to clear that up and that one of the reasons i aint going for a 2.0 engine coz of the hassle with a 1.6 wont be as much of a struggle. so come on guys give us a clue about the other questions

actually the size of the 2.0 engine and the 1.6 is pritty much no difference wen you look at them mate

everything that needs changed to fit the 2.0 needs changed to fit the 1.6 anyway apart from suspension and brakes, but if you have an 8v 1.2 then they need done anyway!

imo its 2.0 or nothing, ive looked into it was ready to do it and went and bought a 172 as the difference is massive. 1.6 was designed to pull laguna's and meganes about not for performance like the 2.0 16v was (well it was but it was then "tuned" by renaultsport to make it more of a performance engine!)
