Would be easier just to do a turbo conversion on your 172, dont thing there is a megane engined clio, due to the fact its a difficult conversion.
There is a Twingo somewhere with the 225 engine in though.

i just want it to work out cheaper than what ktec charge to turbo the engine
plus cant beat a bit of homebrew :D

100% what i would do

as the 225 is the same engine as the 197 ie to bolt on the 6 speed and thats the only reason it hasnt been done :D

but you could jus set up the 6 speed couldnt you
it comes with the gear box an all that
bit of play with changing the mounts should fit the 6 speed box maybe

The Megane 225 gearbox is too long to fit inside the 1*2.
The 6 speed box doesn't mate to a 1*2 engine.
You'd only get about 220ish BHP from the engine if fitted. For the cost, time and effort, why not just buy the low boost kit from K-Tec and fit that to the 1*2 engine. Makes much more sense IMO, plus you've got scope to get more power in future by going for forged internals etc...

All the above information can be found with a simple search.

Knew, i'd read this. the box will fit but the mounts would need to be specially fabricated.

Page two for the proof.

Look where the gear linkage is though all the 6 speed boxes have the linkage on top so you'd need that sorted aswell.
Also if you look further down the thread Fred was selling the 225 engine & box so I assume he gave the project a miss & if he dropped the idea it must be a bad idea. 197 box is probably the way to go if you can get one.

Same nissan box from memory?

^ lol

I never said it was going to be simple. Simply that the box would physically fit in there. It was up to op to use the information to form a plan
