Obviously im looking at doing an engine conversion to my 1.2 to a 2.0ltr but only being 17 (18 in march) insurance is going to kill me.

Im just looking for some information on insurance
1 . Would my converted car be classed as the same insurance group as a standard 172 or would it be more expensive?
2 . Which companys actually do this type of insurance?

Im not going to fit the engine until im 18 anyway as then ill have 1 year ncb

Thanks

best place for insurance on a modded car to my knowledge is flux or green light

he's too young for Greenlight, need to be 21 before they even quote you. I'll be surprised if they insure an 18 year old on that tbh, hope you have deep pockets!

1) Nope. There a few options but you need to get a specailst insurer etc realy. It can be cheaper to insure than a proper car as such depend though

20 Try the kit car places and specialist insurers so try a car magazine like fast car rte cand ring all the compnaies on there.

Dan - Is yours not a traders policy though?

With regards Flux, they may be good for some but they have always been well off the mark whenever I have tried them.
