OK Got my car back today, well impressed with both andy at ED and the cam package in general, it drives pretty much as normal as soon as you get it up to about 2k revs, After 3k you can feel theres more there and it keeps pulling all the way to the limiter harder than before (limiter set at 7.5k). On low revs their does seem to be a bit of a kangaroo effect at about 1.5k but only when your off throttle and coming down the rev range, it sort of lurches forward slightly.
Andy had a misfire on my car when he took it out yesterday, spent an extra couple of hours last night doing compression checks etc, but all fine, he put it down to my cheap sparkplugs(Bosch super 4 fitted by an independant on last service) and or leads as the resistance in my "8mm performance leads" was higher than standard oe items!, So he lent me spark plugs and leads for my way home just have to post them back. Also due to my decat not arriving in time, he said that he can do a map for me with a decat free of charge and email me it which was bloody well nice of him i thought! (extra labour for compression checks and loan of items all free too!)
So overall Andy fantastic guy great customer service, kept me informed all the way etc. And cams seem great too i was expecting them to be rougher than this low down but as i said well impressed and happy! Although idle jumps around a lil more than before!
Fixed in rev2 of these cams.
is rev2 still called EDCAM-001, or something else? I'm just wondering what Engine Developments are selling at the moment

If you look at page 2 of this thread with maupineda's RR graph though with the altitude taken into the equation maupineda car makes 203bhp. So not far off the 206 ED quoted!
And Franx from holland with C&B cams (which have the exact same profile as ED cams) got 174hp at the wheels with say 15% transmission loss thats over 200hp too. And i think Fred was trialing some cams from france at one point that were meant to produce over 200hp too??

428s for standard management, 421s if you're serious. 428s drive smoother because they're mild as fook
how are the MPG's after fitting cams? would definitely like such an upgrade but if i'm going to run 10 mpg then maybe not..

So what cat cams did you have fitted andyman? 428's? Were you happy with them? As for 750 mapped and fitted i cant complain about the ED cams? I know what you mean about the RR not necassarily beeing accurate. The only sort of reputable rollers around me is powerstation which is known for reading high, i keep meaning to get mine done but its finding the time, something allways crops up! but i'm happy with mine especially after getting my exhaut/ decat sorted, it drives nigh on standard low down now no kangarooing or anything low down from the overlap.
Your so, SO , totaly, correct. First thing i notice when i crank the engine with the new managment!it's just possible (and i do mean JUST) with 421s IMO, but it wont idle well at all on FBW unless you have some faster control of it than the stock ecu, and that pushes the cost towards ITB levels. tricky choice
Yeah mate when i first had them done it was quite lumpy on tickover and kangarooing a bit off throttle at about 1.5k revs but since decatting and getting a freer flowing exhuast its much smoother, like i said it drives prettty much standard, as the kangarooing was doing my head in in city rush hour traffic!Mate, you got these side effects corrected with the decat/exhaust? I have a friend with the same mods as I do (we bought cams at the same times from Andy) and he has had the car decatted ever since, and his car is way smoother, even the tick over is quite nice and does not kangoroo at all. I am thinking of decatting mine along with my 182 mani (waiting to have it fitted).
this is the truth tbh. 428s have a standard exhaust cam
