Engine Explanations

  Dynamique 1.2 16V
Hi, I'm thinking of buying a 1.4 Clio, but I'm slightly confused over all the engines on offer, so could anyone sum up each of the following, and the difference between them?

1.4 Dynamique
1.4 Dynamique [AC]
1.4 Expression
1.4 Expression [AC]
1.4 Privilege
1.4 Alize
1.4 Etoile

Help will be appreciated. :)

all the engines will be the same 98BHP

difference will be in the trim/equipment levels, not sure in which order apart from expression(lowest spec)..privilege (top spec) sure someone will help you out

i had a 1.4 dynamique was a good car:D

  Mégane RS
yeah as said above, although the 98bhp is for the 16v odels, not sure if they only make the 16v models now

1.4 Dynamique Sporty looking spec alloys spolier sporty seats usually balck
1.4 Dynamique [AC] Same as above but with aircon
1.4 Expression Lower spec than Dynamic still got alloys but doesn't have the same interier or spolier
1.4 Expression [AC] Same as above but with aircon.
1.4 Privilege Top spec car supposed to be the luxury model in the range not that popualar due to hight price alloys still but lighter colour trim etc.
1.4 Alize see note at bottom
1.4 Etoile see note at bottom

I assume there all new shape Clio ie triangular light not the brand new cars? if so then there all 1.4 16V engine exactly the same spec engine and gearbox 98hp.

I've never heard of the triangular light or brand new Clios comming in those last 2 spec's and the dynamic, expression and privalege are new car spec realy. Are you from abroad if so then maybe your spec levels are different. The Alize and Etoile spec's from a few year agao in the Uk when the dynamic and privalede and expression wern't around.

Oh I see, thanks guys.

I'm looking into the 1.4 Dynamique at the moment, so it's an 'in between model', which is okay for me. :)

The dynamics from the sporty range its very high spec realy the privalege is more a different colour bits.

  Mégane RS
i thought the 1.4 Alize 1.4 Etoile were for 1.2 models ages ago when they first came out with names for them, theres also the new freeway collection iirc

I had a 1.6 16v Dynamique AC (110 bhp) and that was a fantastic little car, If you can afford a 1.6 then i would go for that it was a really nippy little car used to suprise a lot of people with that!!

Oh the spec for the dynamique does not include colour coded bumpers/wing mirrors etc, Mine was in black so you couldn't tell but the rest of the spec is outstanding.

Thanks for the replies so far. I don't want to start a new thread so I'll carry on and post on here.

Does anyone know what the Dynamique Billabong is?

It was virtually identical to the normal Dynamique, except it came in a selection of exclusive colours, both inside and out. May have had a better stereo or something, but it was essentially just a special edition to promote that spec.

Actually, think that metallic paint may have been included as standard....
