Ok, I'm guessing this question can be answered by any engine guru's as i'm pretty sure its not saxo specific....
A good friend has a 1.1, 2000, saxo, and the other day accidently didn't pull the filler cap back on the coolant, halfway down the motorway car overheats and coolant has splattered everywhere...
He struggles home and refilled, but he's pretty sure the system now has an air lock in it.
The thing is the system seems to have three "bleed nipple" type things on it....
One which is a hand screwable thing that can be taken off (i'm assuming this is the correct one to bleed air out of the system)
One which is a hand screw but can only be turned 90 degrees and back again? (is this some kind of stop valve for something)?
One which is a nut, (I assume this is to drain the coolant from the system)
Now.... how does he bleed the sytem?
He tried to do it the other day, and the car was fine for a bit, and was blowing hot air etc, but then suddenly the air went cold and it over heated agian...
I have an idea, but I'm not sure if i'm right, does he just turn the engine on, let it run for a bit, then open up the hand screw bleed nipple type thing (the first one) and then just let the air hiss out, leave it open a bit and keep filling the system?
Please help CS
PS, sorry if this should be in other marques, I didnt know if it would get seen in there
