engine help please

I know this is a clio forum but im in the process of buying a renault megane 03 reg.

I dont know wether they use the same engines but you guys will know more than me.

Im undecided wether to go for the VVT 1.6 16v Dynamique or the VVT 2.0 16v Dynamique.

Ive looked over the internet and its split 50/50 as some say the 1.6 is better and some say the 2.0 is better.

There isnt much between them i costs either couple of hundred quid and insurance is very much the same, so cost isnt really a problem in this situation.

Any help would be great,

i'd get the 1.6 cos power is almost the same but tax is cheaper.

Fred what up with you you've not been reading your price lists recinetly? Renault make 3, 2.0 engine ones the manul 6 speed with your gearbox (I think) one has an auto box and the last is the turbo engined version.
I'd say 2.0 as i'd like a bit more go the 1.6 isn't massivly quick when you load it up. Then again I'd buy the 1.9 120hp diesel anyway.

isn't the 1.6 engine VVT, if not theyve reverted to the pre 2002's like in the clio's that didn't have VVT?
