Engine knocking

But I could hear it pinging, which it has never done before.

very hard to describe a b/e knock tbh, but its more of a metallic bang

not heard anythin like that, the knock i think i heard is the one to do with the ignition. I have the engine warning light on at the moment too, they might be related.
