Engine makeing funny noise @ 3000rpm

me 182 is making a funny noise in every gear @ about 3000rpm and above. its like a whistle/windnoise. almost like a bad earth on an amp. sounds like its coming from the middle front of the car just under the dash.

Any ideas people?

thanx will check them 182 blue. had the car for about 8 months. it aint ever done it before. just a really odd sound. not very loud but annoying.

sounds like mine did. much worse under pressure. turned out to be cracked flange on cat.

just below 3000 in any gear when flooring it theres a weird nose thats from the exhaust and its totally out of tune with the exhaust\engine noise after 3000 - anything to worry about?

Does it sound like a whining noise? Mine does this and has done since new...I think its just the induction noise isnt it?

well i got back in my car last night and it wernt doing it no more. have no idea what that was all about.
