when i change gear hard i can hear the engine knock so obviously an engine mount has gone so i ordered a polybushed dog bone mount and its still doing it so what other mount is common to go that mite be causing the problem?
probably easiest to take the engine mount off and the upper gearbox mount, to check they're still serviceable (they can tear/deform)
whilst doing that, make sure the bolt that the upper gearbox mount sits on is tight (there's a nut on the bottom of it, accessible from wheel arch), and try pulling the engine forwards before tightening the engine mount back up (all assuming that the mounts are actually OK)

upper gearbox mount, as above. Had the same knocking, changed the dognbone first, kept knocking, changed the gearbox mount, problem solved. The old mount was noticeably more flexible than the brand new mount.
