Engine mount question

Hello,

Long story short, I changed my sump gasket yesterday... what a **** job! 😂

anyway, I had the engine lifted right up in order to do that with the 4 bolts attaching the engine mount to the chassis removed.

when i lowered the engine back down, The rubber part of the engine mount stayed attached to the cambelt cover part of the engine mount and the metal part that attaches to the chassis fell off.

Is it meant to be able to do this, Or has it broke and the rubber is meant to be permanently attached to the chassis side of the mount?

Thanks for the speedy reply, I did think this was the case but it doesn’t look like any of its worn out or damaged.. so was hard to tell having never worked on one before 😂

Its not uncommon for them to separate that way when they fail. I had one that looked perfect till it was removed too.

Good to know, Its on my list of bits to buy, uprated mounts anyway but was just hoping i could wait for a little bit until after ive done a few track days.

Just have to get some sooner never mind 🤷🏼‍♂️
