Engine not turning over

So I finished work and go to head home and stop off at asda on the way. Get back in the car after stopping at asda and it wont turn over just get a clicking noise and the battery light on the dash staying on. Just swap the battery out or could it be something else?

Battery is flat, more than likely due to an alternator fault.

Also worth checking battery earth lead as they sometimes work loose.
