engine number not known on log book!!!!

just got me log book through the post for me new clio went to check the engine number to make sure that it was the same and it just says engine number NOT KNOWN does anybody know why????

Hmm, maybe its had a reg'd engine change in the past, but the numbers were fudged?

Nothing you can do about it. Did you not look before you bought it??

No Engine number on V5 and if Renault dont recognize the reg (and ask you for chassis number instead) then its an import. Few differences, no nothing major, my old 172 was an import.

Mine is an import and I don't have the engine number either.
