Engine running without The Key?

At the moment my Clio Starts like normal but if I turn the lights on and remove the key the car carries on running. If I then turn the headlights off the car turns off. The car doesnt start through the lights stalk but when I turn the lights on the dash lights up like I have inserted the key and turned it one click. Ive been told Its ECU related and also that its an Earthing problem. I am now at your mercy! :S :S :S

I had the exact same problem in my old Renault 4 so don´t think it´s ECU related. Never got it sorted as the car was quite old, but think it was earth related for sure!!

i had an rs 125 that wouldn't turn off when i turned ingnition off. Was a loose earth wire. Im pretty certain its that. So get looking for all wires that bolt to body. Check and tighten as neccessary
