Engine Serial

Changing the log book so it has the correct details of the engine thatsin the car. (2ltr 172 instead of 1.6 16v into a megane coupe) anyone know where to find the serial number? And what if it aint got one?

Not on a plate down by the oil filter?

Would it be clearly visible if the engine is in the bay? The cars not with me, hence me not being able to see if its there or not lol

Neither of my 172 engines have had the plaque present. I think its hit or miss

they've don't have one, its stamped onto the block, but goes rusty and is sometimes impossible to read

Cheers mate but sadly no, i bought the block from a breakers about a year ago :S

i might have a knackered block with a number on it, that do you?

above the oil filter on the right hand side, need to go right to the top right and you will see it..

i need to do mine, heard theres a 5week thing for it to get back from Dvla, why not try and use a brush and some flour and brush it on, should stick and make it visible
