The wires to the VVT solenoid on my 58 reg 197 have frayed causing a short circuit - I witnessed a big spark and the car stopped running. I have repaired the loom and now everything (lights etc) behaves as normal except the starter motor does not turn. I have checked all fuses in the fusebox, and the auxilliary one under the lower dash panel and in the UPC fusebox at the right hand side of the battery and the main large fuses in front of the battery box - all are OK. Have I missed any other fuses? Is there a reset button anywhere? Could the immobiliser have been affected or does this turn off other circuits as well? Car has key card.
Grateful for any help to avoid recovery cost and main dealer bills! Thanks
