Engine Swap...

i currently drive a 1.6 rxe, and blew the engine the other day. can i swap the 1.6 engine for a 2.0 engine? if yes, what would it involve? thanks.

It will work out cheaper to buy a new car mate, unless you know someone who is willing to do all the work for a really nice price, brakes, engine mounts etc will all need uprating.

I am unsure weither yo can use the existing gearbox, but someone will know..

Yep it cna be done Matt Balck on here sells the parts there a lot of bits you need to swop all the electrics behind the dash the engine gearbox suspension etc Its £1.5k+vat which is good value but you cna pick up 172's cheap now and you could just stick a second hand 1.6 in yours and sell it on.

how much money am i looking at spending in total? because if i replace the 1.6. with another 1.6 im looking at spending £1500.

matt will sell you a 1.6 lump for around £300 and he sells brand new ones for £700ish if you want to convert it to 2 litre your looking at £3k
