Engine Temp needle

Hello

I have a lovley 1.2 clio V reg.
Recently, the engine temp needle has just been going up and down like a yoyo, for example, cold start, the needle stays down even when the car has been on for 1/2 hour, then suddenly it decides to pop up to normal quite quickly, then it'll drop down again.

Does anyone know what the problem is? I've tried seraching but no joy.

Common problem suprised you didn't come up with an answer.

New coolent temperature gauage is needed.

Also check the wiring might be faulty.

New sesnors are only cheap.

The sensor faces towards the engine on the passenger side of the car on the engine block. Its connectied to the thermostat I think which has a pipe going off it to the radiator (incase you want to find it)

Have to drain the coolent system to fit the new sensors realy. Not a huge job new sensor dead easy to fit.
