Engine transplant

  Storm Grey 200
Hi, how hard is it to change the engine in my car. Its a 1.2 16v mk2 ph1, is it possible to get an engine from a 2001 to 2004 clio and directly replace it? Or will it have to be an engine from the ph1 version for it to be direct?

Also how hard would it be to upgrade to a 1.4 / 1.6?

Cheers

Easy enough you might need to swop bits from your cars intake manifold/aux belt depends what you have and what your buying its easy enough thoguh.

IMo get a bigger engine a 2.0 etc forget the 1.4 hastel for the minimal gains.

Are you changing it because yours has blown or because you want a bigger engine? If its the latter then as above pointless putting anything less than a 2.0 due to the hassle.

changing to a 1.4 is the same hastle as doing a 2.0 conversion, uch, wiring etc so go for another engine the same or go the full way with 2.0

2004 clio 1.2 16v will be the newer revised engine with different ecu and inlet manifold etc so go for a pre 2004 engine.
