engine trouble

me car wouldnt start this morrnin then when i tried again started first time but the engin was reving itself an i didnt have full power, was like settin off is second when i stopped n stuff. but was drivin fine the rest of the day anyone know y it would do that its mk1 phase 1

Did it feel like it was firing on all cylinders? dont know a great deal about the MK1 clios really but if its a distributer system just check your plugs, leads, rotar arm, distributer cap etc for damage or damp... If its a distributer-less sytem check the HT coils and igniton modules etc..
