engine went dead, now starts and immediatly dies...

Hello everyone,
I would surely need your help...
an hour ago while driving my mk2 172, the engine went dead and now it aint starting.
when trying to start the engine, its starts, hesitate for a second and dies. any ideas? i thought about the fuel pump but im a bit lost here...

but there aint any warning lights on (no serv lights etc..)
you can hear the spark, and it sounds like the engine is starting on fuel vapor's...

Is the pump priming when the ignition is switched on?

i'll have to check it (the car is stuck on the other side of town...)
would a burned plug could be the problem? from my experience, it cant, but as i've already learned, with renault cars everything is possible...

check the pump is primgin, as you can hear it, i dont think any lights would come on if the air flow was the problem not sure though.

hi,
just got back from the garage, well, it was indeed the fuel pump. you could hear it "priming" and the inner motor itself was working but the plastic rotors inside it were broken so no fuel came out.
a.o.k now, thanks for helping
btw, the car was realy sluggish lately at mornings, apparently cause the fuel pump was "faking".
