Engine whine when cold

Car  Mazda3 2.2D 185BHP
Hey.

I get a very loud whine from engine when cold, worse on cold start but still there when running warm.

Aux belt was replaced with kit in may. Along with water pump.

Gets louder high the revs.

The Pas does give noise when wheels turned fast, nothing bad tho.

what would be the first thing to check?

Just guessing here but dephaser?

I understand timing belt hasn't been replaced, just aux with water pump, no?

It has to the the PAS pump or the Alt pully making the noise.

is it possible to replace the Alternators Bearings?

Does it get louder when you turn the steering wheel? Reason I say is my old 182 used whine when it ran low on pas fluid. It had a leak on the pressure sensor. The whine went when the fluid was topped up but ultimately replaced the sensor that had the leak and then the whine went altogether.

Not looked at the vid as I'm at work, but altenators wine when they start failing. Mine also got hot (as in too hot to touch). Easy to check this after driving.

Video doesn't sound healthy I don't think that's noise of any pump . When you got the dephaser and timing belt done . I hope you done aux kit and not just the belt

I have something similar, I've had both my belts kits done, dephaser and waterpump replaced (genuine by specialist) and my car also has a little whine first thing in the morning, go's away after a minute or two, same as you im thinking its an early warning for a fail at some time, pain in the hoop of a thing

Both Belts kits, Dephaser and waterpump all done together.

Was no whine before (apart from dephaser noise and very lumpy)

hence why i think its PAS or Alternator related

Mines constant, worse under heavy load and whilst turning seems to be noticably louder. Im checkin PAS fluid levels but ive got it booked in next week.

Nah mines not like that above.

sounds the same whine until you move your wheel.
mine stays the same lol
