escort rs turbo vs evo 6

  BMW 120i Sport

dangerous/irresponsible/illegal but interesting vid ;)

suddenly the 182 turbo conversion is looking more appealing ;)

From the vid it looked like Evo was comfortably away, but the obvious weight advantage and higher power of the RST allowed it to be overall quicker at the top end.

big g would also love the turbo upgrade for mine but look @ it like this. mate has just bought a 380bhp rs turbo engine. cost of engine £2000. cost for another 300bhp is £3500. now how much of a rip off does the turbo upgrade for the clio sound lol

No way an old tin can mk4 escort weights 1200kg! I could move my mk4 with one hand. My next car was a VTR and I reckon the Escort was lighter. Although mine was a 4dr 1.3 popular
Id like to see that Escort do that to Frostys (soon to be) 400bhp VI

if that escort weights 1021 kg then a standard RST must weight over 1100 kg...

tuned RSTs seem to put loads of power out but arent really that fast down the 1/4 for some reason?? :)

I love these races with big man in his evo feeling bullet proof and then chav boy comes along in the turbo and kicks his ass.

It doesnt happen very often, but when it does its class

Vid wont work. But seen the vid. That car is my mates old RST 2.1 ZVH. It was running about 265 bhp at the time and was (on paper) the quickest one in the country at the time (2 years ago), ran a 13.8 @ 108mph at Pod, which at the time was bloody quick. Did 0-100 in around 12,0 secs. Hes now got a 400bhp Saff Cossie on the rears , which is a tad skitty....

No way that vid is real, As 182_blue said, the lamposts arnt moving quickly enough, the road is a blurr at 150+ an you wont be able to hold the cam stedy, i filmed my mates skyline at 180+, very old video also

...I cant get it either, but I used to have a 200bhp RST & it was quicker than my WRX,so a 300bhp one would be doing an Evo I guess. I think there have been a few RSTs which have been measured at just over 150mph in magazines ive seen.
