ESP, service & abs lights on??????

This is my first time on here an new to forums, anyway I have a 2004 172. I was told I had a dry joint on my steering rack which was making the odd cracking noise not all the time very irregular so had that changed by a friend yesterday but now the ESP, service and abs lights are on, well if the steering wheel is straight they go off but soon as move there steering wheel all 3 lights come on an stay on an sometimes when restarting the car they don't go off at all?

Can anybody please help?

Sorry that's a bit hard to understand lol as I said I'm new to forums, basically I've had my steering rack changed an now the ESP, service & abs lights are on and a French speacialist computer could not get into into to re programme the steering rack?

Hi guys,
well I've changed both abs sensors now and the lights are still on, and I've taken my car to French auto solutions in pontypool to go on his computer and he said he was using clip but it would not work on my car, so I am no completely stumped!!
im hoping to try an rstuner this week to see if th helps?

can anyone please help?

Not ABS sensor, benevs meant the brake light switch on top brake pedal.

To me it sounds like it's ur squib ring anyway, steering angle sensor behind the steering wheel. Did your friend drop the steering column down to take out the rack?

Hi

I don't think he did drop the column, jus in unbolted the rack a put new one in?
is the squib ring the same this as the angle sensor or two different parts?

Yep that right, my m8s standard diagnostics will turn them all off but find no codes, but soon as I touch the steering wheel the come on & stay on

The squib and steering angle sensor are two parts... And you can't just throw another angle sensor on your car as it needs to be coded to it!!!

It sounds like you need your steering angle reset not replaced

Yea my local French Speacliasit said the same so he put his computer on it an it would work on my car for som reason an he said he was using clip????
