Hi!

Ive just bought a 2003 clio 172 in silver, 56k and completely standard. Bought it off a neighbour's son who was the second owner after his dad (my neighbour)!

Im hoping to learn a few things off here and share some progress along the way

Quick question, the car is SORN at the mo, how do you tax a SORN'd car because I'm assuming that you don't get a reminder through the post..?!

Hello!

in answer to the SORN question, you can tax a car at the post office without a reminder by taking MOT, V5 and insurance documents. Guessing this means you would have to wait for documents to come through and I'm not sure what you do if MOT is expired.

I think when you do tax online or by phone you dont need to prove you own any documents, you just do it using a reference number on the V5. (which I'm guessing has been sent off to get the name changed at the moment)
