Here are some 'work in progress' pictures on my inlet manifold. I'm sanding it down and polishing it using various grades of wet & dry, autosol, silvo and super resin polish.

I didn't want to do it on the car as it makes a lot of mess.

Whilst the inlet is off i took the chance to degrease the block and clean down all my Samco hoses. I'll post some pictures of the finished article tomorrow.

An hour in...

tell me about it mate!!

how did you do it?

i tried to use a small dremel bit but couldnt get one small enough and it would have sanded off parts of the letters so ive left it for the moment and polished around it best i can, you cant really notice it that much unless your up close to it.

only thing to do is to get it done professionally or sand the letters down so its smooth
but if you find another way to do it PM me!!! lol

Alternative inlet manifolds apparently, not painted, not chromed, they wouldn't say how they did it (they're not plastic either lol).

looks like it's been covered in them squares of gold leaf lol:clown: not my cuppa tea at all.

Just been informed that my dad can do this at work, although he recommends sanding to a mirror finish first, it's called electroplating apparently and is fairly corrosion resistant :/
