Oh yeah of course, I meant OTT in the sense it's proper annoying, I know it serves a purpose (unlikely billy bob and their RSTuner with Pops & Bangs).

Its proper old school anti lag. Literally called "Bang Bang" anti lag in the rally circles. I miss it a lot, I hate the more modern EGR systems and such.
