evo8 fq330 v Clio V6 255

My 2 pennies worth - ive owned 2 Clio V6's and sold em both within 6 month of each other ( one i bought cheap to sell on to make a profit ) . There underpowered and handle terribly. This is my personal opinion and im sure other V6 owners will disagree. The depreciation of the V6 is very high - In saying that though they are a fantastic looking car and attract attention everywere you go, but thats not what a sports car is intended to do - personally mate i would look for something else.

I know you said you bought the 1st one to make a profit but if it was that bad why did you buy another?

Yes just giving my experience as an Ex EVO owner, current 172 cup owner and a my experience of driving a V6 on track....

V6 is not a performance car that performs...again just my experience as i buy cars to drive not to look at.

Also the v6 255 takes quite a bit of getting used to compared to an AWD or FWD......
But I do agree it needs more power, which is what I will do to mine in time

He didn't sell the Evo someone else decided they wanted it more than his alarm wanted to disagree. Hence his forum name.
Its not a bad cars just not a fast car for the money. I don't want a fancy car one which is more show than go with limited seating //lugage space but that doesn't stop me wanting a V6.

The V6 has the looks, and of course there is GDI for anything else you want doing properly.

As stated by Edde my last one got pinched. Got the cup as an interim until i got paid out, still got it 2 years later....!

The V6 with more power now there is a scary thought, its bad enough with the power it has got..the cup with the majority of people driving would be quicker round the track.

Never dismiss the EVO until you have owned one, for the money the driving experience is second to none....

I looked at this thread the other day, and read up to page 3, then got bored of the "Evo's are better!" "No, the V6 is better!"

WHO CARES!

The guy has decided what he wants to do, everybody has different tastes/needs in cars. So leave it at that.

i mean 7 pages of arguing which is better is just stupid. Just agree to disagree, its much easier than trying to prove that one car is better than the other.

Kept it for 2 years as its a track day car that cost me 10k (brand new) and cheep as chips to run and is good at what its supposed to do (unlike the v6). Havent got another EVO (4 years with the others) yet as i have other priorites at the mo. Recent new house and a conservatory at 10k i want in the next few months.

For the record the car (as was the EVO) is a second car as i have an S-line A4 as my daily smoker..M3 or 911 next if the missus get her way..!

Lets put this to bed now.....The V6 looks great and is about the fastest best looking clio ever...The evo is the fastest tarmac car around,whether you like the looks or not is up to each but the v6 has a great road presence that horsepower cant match.
Escort cosworths look great but i follow my mate up the road in his whilst im in a 182. Each to their own individual tastes

EVOgone ... how much time have you spent driving V6s? Mk1? Mk2? Just realized that across this whole thread I don't think (tho' I'm not going to re-read the whole thing to check ) you've ever explained the background experience behind your views against the Vee.
