Am i right in thinking that when these go, it sounds like a load of stones/pennies in the cat? I has a look at a couple of other threads about this and a couple of people said they had cracks in their cat and that was the reason etc. Is it a new cat for me then?

Just de-cat it, you can get really cheap cats for around £60 to put on for the MOT

Get under the car and give it a tap with a metal object, if you hear rattles or if it sounds hollow youl have found the problem
