Exhaust blowing

  Oyster Card
I've recently found my exhaust is blowing on my Clio, not majory but I can't stall the car by blocking the exhaust.
Also when the engines running if I stand near the exhaust it doesn't sound right - Can also hear what I think is a rattle sound from it when I get to 3k I'll have to try and get an audio clip tommorow.

Any idea how I go about finding out where it's blowing from?
Also would it be affecting my mpg and acceleration by much?

Cheers

on a cold morning u might be able to see the gasses coming out of the hole.... either that or just jack it up or put it on ramps and see where its coming from

i assume uve got a std exhaust?

Yes mate standard, from service history it's only had a backbox in regards to exhausts so maybe its on the cards for a stainless system.

I got rid of a vibration recently that was at 2800 rpm, it was the engine cover vibrating. The 4k vibration is usually centre section. might be different for your car though.

just jack your car up dude and when the engine is running have a look and feel around until you find it. Youll also be able to see how far your exhaust is in relation to the heatshield if you get under there!
