Exhaust comparison

I think I have narrowed my search down to either Janspeed/Ktec Silenced Sports or Scorpion RS192. I have a BTB cat back on my 182 at the moment and its just too loud for long daily use. I'm probably going to take this off to be replaced by a quieter one, but something which sounds better than standard.

Can anyone give me their experiences of either above exhausts?

I have the scorpion and with the cat on its not much louder than standard.

With a decat however, it's LOUD.

I put the Scorpion on yesterday ( not 192 the Demon tweeks one ) and it's pretty nice with a cat on, nice burlbe when you come off throttle, just realized my CAT is dead now though as rattles under load internally, time to get an early MOT and then lop it off for a year. KTEC ones just seem expensive and they don't seem to last very long, but check out my post in Clio discussion for the pic of the Scorpion fitted, it's nice and beefy.

I have the k tec with un silenced and decat it's awesome although can be a little drowny on a run , if you want noise check PM me ill send you some videos of mine after work !

Cheers guys, very helpful. The RS192 not being too much louder than standard sounds like a winner. I did like the sound of the Ktec/Janspeed but if it doesn't last long then nuts to that!

I have the ktec/janspeed on my 182 and it is barely louder than std when new, gets a little louder with age. No droning from mine.

I got it second hand several years ago.

lol was going by a mates 172 Cup, it fell off after a year, one of the rear hanger mounts snapped / rotted off. was a Janspeed one with their branding. horrendously loud too.

Can't be too bad quality then eh? Something that sounds just marginally better than standard would be ideal for me, And now I have 9 days off work I want to try and get it sorted. Maybe i'll have a look on the for sale section for a couple of days, see if I can find a bargain!

I got the Scorpion yesterday order last friday, for £200 cat back, couldn't get a better deal, was just a random one off sale item on Demon tweeks.

£200?! Damn thats a bargain Is it the SRN019? Thats the single rear silencer one, which is louder than the RS192 i imagine

Epic Bargain in fact, yes just one back box and the right pipe just branches off it, it's not that loud, well it is under load but cruising it alright just a nice burble. I just think it looks the best.

I've previously had an RS192 and it's slightly louder than standard with a nice note when you put your foot down. It's got a loud drone on motorway runs if you fit a decat but fine with the CAT. I now run a Yozza which is 92db static so a bit of an ear bleeder on long journeys....

got miltek with decat on mine, was on car when i bought it 2years ago, sounds good for me.

That srn019 doesn't sound bad. Still sounds a bit loud though, but I suppose the decat would make it like that.
