Exhaust for 172 cup

  Pikey Truck
Need to know the best exhaust system for a 172 cup, preferably ready built not custom. I like the sound of the magnex ones but they are too big ovals.

Any ideas, Lookin for the 350 max mark...!

Stealth or visible pipe? K-tec stealths are'nt bad (bit too boomy IMO, but others say they're subtle)

Personally I'd go Prospeed in Cardiff and get a custom (thats what I replaced my K-tec with ;) ). Never heard a bad word said about their 172 exhausts

K-tec stealth for me. A few have had quality issues, including me, but once resolved it's a great bit of kit.

I say it's subtle, and combined with a decat, sounds just how it should.

Second that....good setup with decat or sports cat:)

The Magnex system does either a twin 2.5" or an oval.

Sounds very nice, not too over the top, but the problem is it's a fu(cking heavy exhaust and the fit is terrible, I could not get mine to fit right, used powerflex exhaust mounts etc.

I got mine at back end of November from Prospeed...with CS discount it should be £380 but he does it for £319. They're in Cardiff...but well worth the drive, plus an off the shelf jobbie is not personal to your car, they build the exhaust while you wait...they have the back box and the section just behind the cat prebuilt. They then do all the welds, and bending while you watch, and they beat the idea of having something pre-made. They do cut through the bumper or stealth. Charlie and Simon are experts in what they do, I had a stealth exhaust 'mid-sport' note...and I'm impressed...you can get it louder or quieter depending on your requirements...and if there are any issues afterwards, then there is a life-time warranty, and they'll sort it for you.

Have a look in the Renault dealers and specialists section, or in the Clio Media section...:)

Prospeed being what Dan Page had, which lost him power...?

I have a k-tec stealth, i thought it was blowing but have now found out that the CAT had a crack, so therefore i can't say a bad thing about it.

Personally i feel unless you have an exhaust recessed into the bumper the stealth is the right option. Looking back at my old Clio with an exhaust hanging under the bumper it did look a bit chavvy...
