exhaust is broke, need some help please.

I have had it up on ramp in kwik fit and my mate said the baffle or whatever has gone in the exhaust. So said I should take it back to renault for replacement.

It sounds fooking awful, I was wondering what it was for ages, but its definitely the exhaust. Its getting worse, only used to happen at around 4200rpm, where it resonates, but now i can hear it any time the car accelerates.

How do I get renault to fix this for me? I dont want to get fobbed off with the same old crap, "it's supposed to do that".

not the whole lot then? Was going to get a custom jobby if they replace the lot and sell the new standard one.

you wont be able to sell the standard one now, or atleast the centre section.

Its a very common thing with the 172 and thes a good chance it will re-occur. I would get it fixed if you got warranty. If you havent then get a magnex.

Was hoping to do this. Then go and get a stainless.

i had a magnex that the middle box failed too! after only 4 months use, nice resonance @ 4k rpm

^^ Did they replace it with the lifetime gaurantee??

Hated the 4k rattle on my 172. Was only sorted when I got a magnex. Renault tried so many times to sort without success.
