Exhaust leak when cold

Hi

Bit of a strange one sounds like I've got a leak in my exhaust until the car reaches temp then it goes away. Sometime also a smell of smoke through the heater.

I have sleeved my cat and replaced the gasket. (plus sealant) but still not gone away.

Any ideas I'm somewhat at a loss?

Possibly the manifold to cat gasket needing to be replaced.

Just to bumb this, any recommendations for gaskets?
I'm not paying £20 for the Renault kit and they won't sell me just the gasket which is ridiculous.

There are generic ones...but they are s**t and you'll end up getting the OE one anyway

For the sake of twenty quid just get the kit. If needs be swap the whole lot

This. I got stung by a generic one and ended up wishing I'd bought OEM in the first place.

Buy cheap buy twice.

Issue I have with it is I have modified/repaired the mounting plate so original bolts will just go in the bin. I also hate paying for things where a company is basically ripping you off and there's f all you can do.
