Exhaust Noise :(

Ok, i have a 2000 172 ph1 clio, now i brought the car a few months back and now the exhaust seems to be making some really annoying rattling noise!! on idle it rattles like crazy.

The exhaust seems to be a magnex oval (big thing, crap i know) but it hangs low / lop sided and has quite alot of play in it, atm i cannot afford £300 + for a new exhaust, so was wondering if there are any methods to stop the rattling?

My dad seems to think its the exhaust mount is abit shagged ? or could the baffle be gone in the exhaust?

If i push the exhaust up with my foot, the rattling stops.

Any ideas are appreciated

treat yourself mate iv just had a powerflow system fitted £275 custom made and fitted and i asked for it as quite as poss it sounds great and very well fit also got lifetime warranty with it

sounds like its knocking on the sub frame, just needs re aligning

^ probably right. Get it jacked up or on a ramp if you can, loosen off the bolts on the clamp joining the centre pipe to the backbox and twist it up (like what you were doing with your foot) and do the bolts on the clamp back up nice and tight. 10 mins max job.

Ben, i cant afford one hehe, Im in my last year of Uni and well im poor specially just after xmas

The clamp on the left? with the rubber inside ?
