Exhaust Rattle

My RS 2002 has a really annoying crackle/rattle from the exhaust after
Acceleration then backing off the throttle. Has anyone else had this and could it be the Cat or is there another siliencer further on? I have check the mounts and its all tight. Wondering if a De-Cat pipe may fix the problem?

could be rattling on the heatshield round the exhaust?

doubt a decat will solve it. it sounds like something loose in the silencer (loose bit of gauze or something)?? how bad/loud is it?

Its loud, not all the time but mosty around 3-4k RPM when backing off, Sometimes its there lower in RPM but mostly when backing off

most common fault on the car, you need a new centre section, 99% of people in the uk replace the exhaust completley with an aftermarket unit from the cat back

So that should do the trick, there is not much choice as to what to buy over here, I have found one cat back called Scorpian?? Is it better to get a custom system built to the same diameter as the standard pipe and eliminate the center section siliencer? Would a De-Cat improve performance/sound over the cat back alone? Thanks mate
