Exhaust riddle

  Clio mk2 RS phase 2
Greetings pals!
I bought an 172 Clio a few months ago, which has a custom full 2.5" exhaust and an 182 manifold. The thing is that it's way too noisy for my 43yo ears. I changed the muffler with an Asso one, which is semi- free I guess and has a nice gentle bass sound. But... the low and low-mid range died!
So I wonder if there is a solution to my issue or I'm just condemed.

Thank you in advance!

Ah right. So a pattern part back box.

Maybe it’s a bit more restrictive so not performing as well as a freer flowing system.

Does it have a centre box? I’ve got a resonated ktec stealth on mine which isn’t too loud and still performs well.

it has one yes, it's a solid built, but the whole thing is still too loud with the matching muffler.
I wonder if the Asso will perform better on the low range with a 2''

I’m not sure, but having a mixed bag of a system will surely be hurting performance? Unless there are other underlying issues causing flat spots?
