exhaust smoke?

whenever i put my foot down in my 182 and the revs go above 5.5ish i get quite alot of smoke coming out the back through the gears....

is this normal or not?

defiantly smoke because its quite thick cant see the car for a short while behind if i put my foot down because of the smoke

Sounds like condensation buildup in the exhaust to me. Try a search plenty of people with 182's have found the same.
