Exhaust Warranty Question....

Hey Guys,
Just got back from my first service (10,000 km). I've noticed the last couple of days the signs i think of the dreaded '4k rattle'. I explained this as best i could (hard work trying to explain in arabic to someone who doesnt even have the first clue about a renault or any car) and thankfully i got hold of the service manager, a very knowledgeable guy.
Now to the problem.... I've got my decat fitted and he's saying that my de-cat may have caused the rattle in the mid section of the exhaust. I told him unless he can absolutely prove it i can claim on warranty. He agreed but said if Renault ask for an expection then he's obliged to tell them i have a de-cat and therefore they can revoke my warranty on the exhaust.
He's getting back to me on Saturday with a price and if i'm able to replace it under warranty. Also he said it could take upto 2 months to arrive,lol!!!!
Anyone got any advice i can tell them?

I doubt they will replace it under warranty in all honesty.

Care to expand mate? I thought unless they can prove that it has caused the fault then i can get a replacement under warranty? We all know that many 182's have had this problem anyway. What sort of cost is it to replace if they decide to void my warranty?

I'm not aware of Renault needing to prove anything. From their viewpoint you've "modified" the exhaust itself and the damage could have been caused either during fitting and/or as a result of the decat.

Well it's cheaper to buy an aftermarket system.
